Selangor Villa is a traditional shophouse located on the fringe of Georgetown, and the original dwelling was in significant decline. We retained the general heritage building fabric including stunning Art- Deco inspired masonry facade curves and thoughtfully proportioned original steel windows. The renovation involved an entire makeover and modernisation whilst enhancing the strong original bones of the original dwelling. Courtyards are created throughout the home to encourage ventiallation and provide calm respite from the tropical heat. Massive rooms with 12 foot ceilings have ceiling fans to promote airflow through the new 4-bedroom plan over two stories. Classic old Penang heritage structure complement modern steelwork. We have styled the old home with sophisticated, modern furniture, extending the life of this classic old Penang home by many decades and preserving it as a joyful family residence for generations to come.
